International Expansion Brings Change

Entering the U.S. market
Founded in Brazil, Rock Content soon became the content marketing industry leader in Latin America. After its acquisition of U.S.-based competitor ScribbleLive two years ago, the company launched operations in the U.S. and Canada. In each new region, Rock Content maintains its focus on building content strategies at scale for its customers.
The quest for detailed financial reporting
Rock Content found that QuickBooks was unable to handle the many changes stemming from its U.S. acquisition. The team needed to create detailed financial and accounting reports to more closely track metrics like revenue, profitability and liquidity ratios, and budgets vs. actuals. The board researched ERP systems and found NetSuite, which stood out for its global presence and origins in the cloud.
Integrations and insights
Rock Content implemented NetSuite to handle accounting and financials while integrating it with other systems the team used: Fusebill for subscription billing, Avalara for tax compliance, and Hubspot CRM. Easily-accessible financial data, especially budget vs. actuals, allows CFO Renato Guerra to “provide our leadership with insights and recommendations on measures to take in order to drive more growth,” he said.
Continuing global expansion
Rock Content expects to grow organically in the U.S. market over the next two years, using NetSuite to manage the various currencies, tax rules and reporting requirements of the countries in which it now operates. It also plans to expand globally through more acquisitions, relying on NetSuite to onboard acquisitions fast and efficiently.
