Setting up for success
Though leadership knew an ERP system was necessary from the start, PURE The Winery briefly used QuickBooks to record accounting transactions after its launch. A prompt analysis of the top ERP vendors led to NetSuite OneWorld as a firm foundation for the global wine distributor, which sold over 400,000 bottles within two years. In 2022, the company is on track to surpass 1 million bottles and €10 million ($11.3 million USD) in sales.
Crisis rallies online stores
A COVID-induced slump in retail sales and distribution forced PURE The Winery to rethink its purely retail distribution approach and set up web stores in Australia, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Spain. Partnerships were established in the United States and Singapore to allow consumers access to buy the wine online. Now, sales in some areas of Europe are completely direct-to-consumer and online, while in the US, resellers and physical retail account for 80% of revenue.
Easy international sales
While producing and shipping hundreds of thousands of bottles around the world each year, PURE The Winery relies on NetSuite OneWorld to manage all the tax, duty and labelling requirements that vary from country to country. Switching from QuickBooks to NetSuite saved eight days of work per quarter in accounting processes alone.
New markets, new efficiencies
PURE The Winery plans to add new countries including France, Italy and Ireland in 2022. It expects to drive more efficiencies in areas such as account reconciliation, demand forecasting and tracking inventory volumes among its winery and logistics centers as teams adopt more components of the ERP system, allowing the business to grow even faster.
