Women’s Online Fashion Retailer First in Line for Ecommerce Boost to Middle East

Vanity Kart, an online fashion store for women across the United Arab Emirates that sells over 250 brands including Burberry, Michael Kors, Dior and Estée Lauder, markets itself as the first company to address the specific needs of women’s fashion in the region. It is also the first of many companies within the same venture capital group to roll out NetSuite’s ecommerce platform as a quick way to promote and run a multinational business.

“NetSuite is a complete ERP solution with standard business logics to match the operational process and other business aspects that are easy to integrate with. Its external resources along with a high level of security make the cloud-based platform cost effective. It was easy to navigate and implement.” Sanjeev K Sinha, Group CFO, NB Ventures Ltd.

Retail roll out spans Middle East
Vanity Kart is part of the $40m NB Ventures group, which has 20 subsidiaries across the Middle Eastern territory, mostly within retail, distribution, fashion, health and fitness, and leisure. Over the last 18 months, three of its companies have launched NetSuite—including Target One, a home electronics and accessories distributor, VIP Cosmetics, a beauty products distributor—with seven more to follow by June 2020.
Shared concerns prompt action
Given the rapid expansion of many of its businesses across the Gulf region, the investment group realised it needed better IT control and reporting structures in place. However, it was concerned about data security and deploying an external, shared platform across so many different entities.
Easy fulfillment speeds deliveries
Within three months, users at Vanity Kart have found fulfilling orders much easier, ensuring daily, on-time deliveries, either from local warehouses or directly from suppliers abroad including upcoming fashion designers from India, Pakistan and the Arab world. A local implementation partner, KPI, made customisation and integration easier.
Consolidated operations bring shared benefits
Vanity Kart next plans to launch in Saudi Arabia and India, while further consolidation of operations across the countries and business entities within the parent NB Ventures group should bring about more shared benefits from using the same software—including consolidated reporting and accurate, multi-currency data on stocks and sales.
