Six decades of protecting critical assets: McElligotts started in 1954 in Melbourne, growing steadily to become a major national service provider with entities in Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and Tasmania. With over 65 years of experience in its specialised fields, it now manages a portfolio of large scale, highly-complex industrial projects including some of the nation’s most critical and iconic pieces of infrastructure.

From carbon pads to cloud platform: McElligotts struggled to maintain visibility over transactions and reporting due to the disparate systems used across offices. Some departments were even relying on carbon pads raising purchase orders. To modernise and consolidate its systems into one, McElligotts turned to NetSuite’s cloud-based financial management platform.

From 40 systems to one in just 14 weeks: Following the SuiteSuccess methodology for rapid onboarding and systems integration, McElligotts migrated 40 disconnected financial, payroll and ERP systems—including 2,000 items in Queensland alone—in just 14 weeks. The result was more consistent processes and easier collaboration across all four offices.

Holistic financial and operational visibility: Incredibly, McElligotts was still bookkeeping by hand in certain parts of the business. This was all replaced with accurate, automated and integrated financial management. The company is now working with NetSuite to upskill and empower staff to maximise the use of the platform.
