Planning for Expansion

Patient-centered care
A team of hospice professionals started Lumicare to bring a higher standard of care to the hospice experience. The company’s focus on honoring patients, along with its growing reputation as a trusted hospice provider in the Mid- and Southwest, resulted in 5x growth in 2020.
Multiple locations, disconnected books
Lumicare was managing disconnected books for its four separate office locations in Missouri, Kansas, Colorado and Arizona. Matching credit card expenses to the various locations became time-consuming, and data pulled from the company’s electronic medical record (EMR) system had to be manually assigned to each location.
Consolidating processes, saving time
To solve this problem, Lumicare evaluated multiple ERP providers including Sage Intacct and Microsoft Dynamics. It chose NetSuite because the system provided a simple way to simultaneously manage Lumicare’s books across its locations. This consolidated view has saved accounting 2-3 hours of work per week and helped identify price variances across durable medical equipment suppliers, which Lumicare has used to negotiate better deals.
Ready to grow
Lumicare is looking to open more locations throughout the country in the near future. While expanding geographically, Lumicare will also focus on expanding its culture of servitude, knowing that its ERP system will be able to keep pace.
