JonnyPops entered the frozen treat industry with a simple yet lofty goal: create a better pop for a better world with simple, wholesome ingredients and kind deeds written on every stick. Launched eleven years ago in the basement of the co-founders' dorm, JonnyPops started with a blender and sales at local farmers markets. Treats pop up in 10,000+ retailers
JonnyPops has come a long way from its humble beginnings, quadrupling in size over the past five years. Its retail presence has expanded in turn, with products in over 10,000 retail outlets across all 50 states and several foreign countries.
Old tactics threaten to freeze expansion
As JonnyPops grew its volumes of SKUs, inventory locations, and retailers, its original business management approach—manual processes and QuickBooks—became a problem. JonnyPops needed a solution that could trace the life cycle of each product, from individual ingredients to the sale of finished goods, to satisfy industry regulations and its commitment to an allergen-free environment.
Inefficiency melts away
JonnyPops made the switch to NetSuite ERP, digitising all product details in the same system. It now easily tracks materials from receipt at one of its warehouses across the country, through the factory, to consumer delivery. The team has also implemented required tests, policies, and standards throughout the process to ensure that only the highest-quality ingredients end up in its products.
Sticking with it
With a growth rate of 50% and a new manufacturing facility on the way, JonnyPops isn’t slowing down. As it grows, it will continue using NetSuite Learning Cloud Support to get new team members trained and working in NetSuite quickly. And as its retail presence expands domestically and abroad, JonnyPops will keep tracing products’ full life cycle in NetSuite—wherever in the world those products may be.
